I. SOCIAL BEHAVIOR COURSE
Offered in person only, at my Toronto location
This course teaches clients with social and behavioral difficulties to break through their limits and reach their full potential. It's a personalized program which I carefully create from various evidence-based methods.
Instead of medicalizing problems and accepting limitations in life, students learn to change their mindset and manage challenges independently.
II. PARENT CONSULTING
Offered either remotely via Zoom and email, or in person.
Special education teachers at schools prepare IEPs (Individual Education Plan) for many students, for a wide variety of reasons. The IEP is important because it explains what accommodations will be made for the student, and teachers are required to follow it.
However, the IEP process can be confusing and intimidating to parents. I help parents to be confident that the document they're signing will meet their child's needs as well as possible.
III. COLLABORATIVE PROBLEM SOLVING®**
Offered online via Zoom, or in person at my Toronto location.
Traditionally, society has believed that kids who exhibit difficult behaviors are doing so deliberately. Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) takes a different view, which is that challenged kids lack the skill, not the will, to behave well.
In other words, just as kids may lack skills in reading or math, they can also lack specific types of thinking skills. The goal of CPS is to strengthen these skills so that they are able to resolve problems through collaboration instead of confrontation.
